French pink glass salt cellar

I adore the gorgeous old French glass salt cellars and always use them when we are in France. You can still see them being used in restaurants everywhere.

This particular salt cellar is just the prettiest shade of peachy pink. I would say it is from the 1930s, the shape and the colour certainly point that way. It is in really nice condition, there is only the smallest nibble on the rim on one side.

French Ticking Bundle, 12 antique and vintage pieces

Over the winter, I have been very careful about using the beautiful old French ticking fabrics, as there was no way of replenishing my stash. Now that the vide greniers season is getting closer in our area of France, I don't feel quite so bad about letting some pieces go. I am keeping my fingers crossed that during the summer I will be able to find some more pieces. Yes, you can buy brand new French ticking, but they cannot reproduce the soft feel of the old fabrics, the gentle signs of age, the light fading and the little blemishes, which make antique and vintage fabrics so desirable.

Of some of my treasured old ticking, I only have very small amounts left. But all the pieces I have included in this bundle are of good usable size.

Recycled Vintage French Silk, 3x1m lengths

The colour of this vintage silk is just gorgeous, I would probably call it a deep sea green . On my monitor the colour of the photos is pretty accurate. The silk is torn into ribbons of 1m length, width is approximately 2cm.

Beautiful to use in fabric collages etc.

The bundle comes tied with more of the beautifully soft silk and a matching handmade tag.

Antique French Knife Rests, set of 6

You probably saw these fabulous knife rests on my main blog some time ago. I had never seen knife rests like these, with the little cups on either side. I think they could be for individual salt and pepper helpings for the diners, so that they don't have to pass one large salt/pepper cellar round. The French usually have those double salts on the table rather than salt and pepper grinders/shakers -

Vintage French Enamel Milk Urn with Lid

I love kitchenalia, especially enamelware. This vintage milk urn is very similar to one I used to take to the shop to get our milk when I was a little girl in Germany. In really nice vintage condition, a bit chippy of course, because it had a working life. The inside is in great condition -

Gorgeous Antique French PARIS plate - SOLD

Love Paris? Can you name some of the most famous Paris landmarks? How about La Tour Eiffel ( of course ), Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge, L'Opera, Dome des Invalides, Notre Dame, Les Tuileries, L'Arc de Triomphe, Madeleine? You can find them all on this copper metal Paris plate. I can't tell whether it is solid copper of copper finish.
This one is quite heavy, hence the higher shipping costs.

Antique French Religious Plaque 2

Another beautiful old French religious plaque, found a year or so ago in a small antique shop in Autun, Bourgogne. This one is round and has a small chain attached to it.

I find these old religious plaques every so beautiful. They remind me of my grandmother's bedroom. This one is diamond shaped and decorated with beautifully aged and mellowed glass glitter.

Gorgeous French Enamelware "CAFE" Container

As I said before, I adore Vintage French enamelware, and this Cafe container is such a great piece. Just look at that fabulous colour, the delicate blue veining on the white enamel. And the beautiful old letters, gorgeous. Excellent vintage condition.
