I was drooling when I found a small box full of the most amazing sheet music from the 1920s and 30s at a little vide greniers in France. I had to haggle a lot but that is half the fun of going to a vide greniers of course. I spend ages and ages carefully going through all the sheets when I got back to England. Here are just a few photos -
Isn't the deep blue music sheet amazing?
Some are huge sheets with a selection of different songs, folded a few times so that the main picture becomes the cover, others are single sheets, some are even hand written. I am offering 5 pieces of Art Deco music, combination of folded and singles, all different of course and my choice. If there is a particular one you are after let me know, and I'll try to sort it out.
5 pieces £10.50 including postage worldwide

Vintage French "Missel Vesperal"
Religious books have always appealed to me, probably because they remind me of going to church on Sundays with my grandmother. I found this beautiful French "Missel Vesperal" in France a little while ago, and just had to get it. It is from the 60s, so a good vintage age, and is beautifully illustrated with many many glorious pictures. The page edges are gilded. It has a little bit of damage on the back, everything else is in fine condition -

Antique French Monogrammed Sheet
I dislike polycotton bedlinen immensely. There is nothing like using proper cotton or linen sheets to keep the skin breathing properly. Linen is definitely my favourite, so cool to sleep under in the summer for example.
Thats why I love French bedlinen so much. Often the sheets are pure linen, hand loomed and beautifully monogrammed. Sometimes the old sheets are a linen/cotton mix (metis ), but it is only the more modern sheets which are just cotton.
This sheet is probably from the early part of the last century as it is a whole sheet, not made up of two parts. It has a large monogram ( 10cm, 4" approx ) and a beautiful drawn thread hem. There are a few broken threads
but that easily fixed. The quality is really lovely, with a firm weave and beautifully softened by many many washes.

Set of Three Vintage Toile de Jouy Tins
Vintage Lourdes Tin
I have a thing about vintage tins, I love them, I can't ever resist them when I see them, doesn't matter whether I see them in France or in England. There is something about the images, the bits of rust, the little scratches and dents which just speak of a long working life and set my imagination on fire. Of course you get tins for just about everything and displaying so many gorgeous images, but it isn't often that one finds a tin with a religious motif.
I had never seen a tin like this, showing a scene of Lourdes. I think this is rather special and deserves to go to a person who would perhaps appreciate a little something from this place which is so dear to so many.
A few adorable French treasures
